How Recruitment Agencies Can Network Online
How Recruitment Agencies Can Network Online The final part of our series covering LinkedIns 2017 Mostly Socially Engaged Staffing Agencies is about the importance of utilizing the online space, specifically LinkedIn, to engage and network with people. So to get the answers, we chat with Nicholas Eveleigh, the Senior Marketing Executive at McGregor Boyall Associates, a UK-based recruitment firm with operations spanning across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Networking online is a necessity for our business, it allows us to stay connected with our existing customer base as well as engaging with new audiences. As a business, we decided to invest heavily in LinkedIn by providing all of our Consultants with their own recruiter licenses. This allows our consultants to maximise their engagement with the platform and keep in touch with both their candidates and clients regularly. As a business, we find value in sharing relevant content regularly, because of this we made the decision to enhance our company page by investing in multiple career pages, these allow us to demonstrate the different areas of our business across the globe and promote our corporate values to our audience. Creating Awareness As well as investing in career pages and recruiter licenses we have also heavily invested in LinkedIn advertisements, in 2017 we ran three different brand awareness campaigns for different specialisms within the business, having received great responses from these we plan to run similar campaigns in 2018. As part of our content strategy for LinkedIn, we do our best to provide our network with relevant content as regularly as possible, the types of content we push out include; market and industry insights, latest studies and findings, salary guides, our people, culture and the quality service that we deliver. People: Employees Clients Our people are the personification of our brand, we encourage and empower each of them to engage with LinkedIn on a daily basis. By connecting with the market and building relationships, our people help to share our services and our solutions, while providing clients and candidates with a recruitment service that is built on our core values. Clients and candidates look to us to inform them of the latest news and market trends. We do a lot of this through the content we push out on LinkedIn but we also regularly host breakfast seminars and events to launch our latest research and insights. Social Recruiting Social recruiting is vital for our business because it gives us the opportunity to engage and connect with both people and organizations, allowing us to uncover the very best talent on the market. Once these connections have been made it is imperative that we nurture them. Ensuring that our clients and candidates are engaged in our work helps them to feel part of what we do and encourages and builds long-standing partnerships that can span entire careers. LinkedIn is a great professional networking platform and empowers our people to connect with our clients and candidates easily and personally, allowing us to add value to the services we provide. Our business covers many industries and specialisms and LinkedIn allows us to demonstrate our capabilities and brand globally.

My daughter changed everything... I am so grateful now that I can spend time with my daughter. I have structured my life, career and business around my family and my ideal lifestyle which allows me to be a stress-free, happy workin from home mama to Mila. But it wasnt always this way. 18 Scientific Backed Ways to Improve Your Resume (INFOGRAPHIC)
18 Scientific Backed Ways to Improve Your Resume (INFOGRAPHIC) Putting together a good resume can be a difficult task. Faced with a blank Word doc and a list of achievements, there are countless ways you could proceed. Of course, youâll have a few creative ideas of your own â" but while itâs great to stand out from the pile, you donât want to accidentally do something that will make you look unprofessional. Thankfully, the research is in. We now know a number of ways you can build and tweak that CV, each of which is proven effective at impressing potential employers. One troubling fact revealed by the research is that recruiters may spend as little as six seconds checking out your resume. They have a lot to look through, they know more or less exactly what they want and â" heck, and it can be boring reading endless CVs all day long! You can get ahead of the game by concentrating your strongest skills onto that first page, and ordering your achievements in reverse chronological order so as not to waste time on less relevant facts. This will also help you to focus your resume: with 58% of employers saying that 1-2 pages are all they want to see, most of us need to be selective about what we include. If youâre curious about what science has to say about the digital age specifically, youâd be right to keep up to date: while a good headshot is essential for your LinkedIn profile, itâs considered passé on an offline CV. You can instead help recruiters to get a broader picture of you by including links to your Twitter or LinkedIn profile. Nearly three-quarters of recruiters reckon this is advisable. This is just the start. Check out the infographic below for 18 tips on how to improve your resume, according to science. Give yourself a better chance of success by applying these principles to your CV next time youâre preparing an application.

Here is Annas Exact To-Do List Template
Here is Annas Exact To-Do List Template This weekend I gave out my exact to-do list template to my newsletter subscribers. I have received so much great feedback about the template that I wanted to share it with my blog readers today as well. This past week I have been reading Developing the Leader Within You by John Maxwell. So many good things in this book, but the best one that I want to share with you is the to-do list template. So I must say that I recreated the exact to-do list template from his book, this is not my creation. But, I think you will find it as handy as I did. Work Smarter, Not Harder To-Do List Template This template is based off the fact that its not how hard you work, its how smart you work. It is also based on the 80/20 principle that 20% of your time produces 80% of your results. As a leader, you always will have to juggle three or four high-priority projects successfully and this template will help you do that. The template is broken into the following categories: 1) Phone calls to make: Who do you need to call today? 2) Personal notes: What personal things do you need to get done today? DMV, laundry or post office errands? 3) 20/80 Time: These are the high importance and high urgency tasks that need to be completed today. Assign yourself a time limit for these tasks and get them done first! These items are the most important to your success. 4) List of things to do: These are high importance but low urgency so if they dont get them done today, it will be OK. 5) List of things to delegate: These are low importance and high urgency. Get these off your plate and delegate them! Thats it! Dont you love it? Seriously, I used this template every morning last week and it really helped me stay focused. So, here it is: Click here to download the template. Instructions: Before you do any tasks, print out this template right away each morning and start completing it. Even better, print it out the night before and have it completed. That way, when you get to work, you can grab your coffee and start completing your already prioritized to-do list. Would love to hear how this to-do list template helped you. Comment below and let me know what you think! Have a great week!

How to Get Into An Ivy League School and Help Your Career CareerMetis.com
How to Get Into An Ivy League School and Help Your Career â" CareerMetis.com Getting into an Ivy League school is both rewarding and very demanding at the same time. Having great test scores in high school wonât be enough to get you through the doors of one of the finest schools in the country. You will have to work hard on other aspects of your education, develop yourself as a person and present your value to the school. So, how do you achieve all of this and secure your place among the best and the brightest?1. Be One of the BestevalSuccess in high school consists of a great deal of achievements, not just having good grades. Having that in mind, having an excellent grade point average is imperative for boosting your chances of being accepted into an Ivy League school. So, do your best to be among the top 10% of your class.evalSecondly, you will have to challenge yourself. Nothing looks better on your college application than a list of academic programs youâve participated and excelled in. An Ivy League school will expect you to take advanced courses that offer college credits. Look for classes that are recognized as difficult, but that donât have a particularly difficult grading system.Be sure to start early. Achievers and winners are made over time, and if you slack off until your final year, you wonât stand a chance of being admitted into a school that expects to see a record of excellence from day one. So, be sure to have a consistent history of scholastic achievements in your record. If there are valid reasons you couldnât achieve any of these prerequisites, be sure to supplement your application with a detailed explanation of the matter so that an exception can be made in your favor.2.Go Above and Beyond the Call of DutyFirst, aim for an excellent standardized test score as it will prove to be a critical part of your overall application. You should aim to have at least 700, if not more, on your SAT scores, or a sum of 30 on the ACT for a reasonable chance of being admitted. Having a total of at least 2250, or more than 33 on your ACT will give you a score that neednât be improved further.Start preparing early for the test and take preparation classes in addition to practicing on your own. Speed and accuracy will be vital during the test, and these are skills that take time to learn and master. Do not repeat the test more than three times as the admission panel will notice the history of repeated attempts and it will be interpreted as you being too focused on scores.Secondly, get involved in extracurricular activities. Rather than viewing it as an added chore, think of it as extra points in your application. You should prove to the admission officer that you not only care about developing your test scores, but that you care about developing your strengths, working on your weaknesses and being a better person overall. So, make sure you join a sports team, a club, or a theater department.evalRemember to volunteer in your local community, and if you can, go national or international. You want to show that you are a person who cares for others and can devote their time to helping those in need. Whether you are raising funds for a school in another country during the summer, or you are feeding the homeless during the winter, the admissions panel will recognize your charity work.3. Ace the Application ProcessNow that you have covered all of the prerequisites for a viable shot at the Ivy League, you will need to pass the university admissions process. In order to apply for the right schools for you, youâll need to do some research.Search for schools based on location, education methods and opportunities, student communities, professors and other criteria. Make sure to visit the campus and sneak into a few lectures if you get the chance.evalTo boost your chances, have the teachers you know from your high school write you recommendations. Then, start polishing your application and preparing for your interview. Your application will be all about showcasing your personality through ess ays and interviews. Make sure you start writing your essays early, and focus on telling the stories that will show how you have grown as a person and how certain experiences have shaped your life. When the interview rolls along, make sure you are dressed appropriately, and be your (more mature) self! Act natural, and practice the interview process with family members beforehand. And the rest will be history. Getting into the top schools in the country requires hard work and dedication, and with these guidelines, you will have a concrete plan of action that will ensure you make your Ivy League dreams come true.
